Welcome to the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list application.
This web-based process will assist you in applying for a place on the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. See “Search Existing Record” box to the right for waiting list status. Soon after closing, the HRA will conduct a random lottery of all applications and place 200 selected applicants on the Stearns County HRA Housing Choice Voucher waiting list.
Upon completion of registration, write down the tracking number for your records. Applicants can return to this page after the lottery has been conducted to check whether they were selected by clicking the "Search Existing Record" button to the right and entering the tracking number.
If you need to make changes to your application after the waiting list has closed, you must put changes in writing and submit to the Stearns County HRA office in person, or by fax #320-685-7580, email [email protected], or mail to Stearns County HRA, 401 West Wind Court, PO Box 484, Cold Spring, MN 56320.
To successfully apply, provide the following information:
First and last names of all members of your household.
Social security numbers of all members of your household.
The total gross annual income of your household. This includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), wages, unemployment, Social Security, and Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), General Assistance, child support, and any other income received.
A valid address to which the HRA staff can send correspondence.
A valid phone number at which the HRA can contact you.
To meet the HRA eligibility criteria:
Provide accurate information. Submission of false information or misrepresentation may result in loss of eligibility to participate in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Applicants must have a valid address and/or phone number for contact purposes. Applicants who cannot be contacted will have their application made inactive.
Only one application per household. Submission of multiple applications will result in disqualification.
Applicant must not exceed the very low income limit
